Tasting Notes
Wine Advocate 88
Tasted at a oeThe Samplera in South Kensington. It has been quite a few years since I tasted this Cos d’Estournel. This bottle had a much more herbaceous bouquet compared to eight years ago: undergrowth, tree bark, dusty mahogany bureau with vestiges of sweet red fruits eventually rising to the surface. The palate is foursquare and conservative with dusty black fruits and a dry, aloof finish that has its own a oeclassica charm. My feeling is that this can only dry out in the future, so drink any bottles you may own. Tasted September 2011.
