Tasting Notes
Vinous 87-89
Inky purple. Pure aromas of red cherry, blackberry jelly and coffee. A supple, sweet and tasty midweight, with expressive flavors of redcurrant, cocoa and smoky oak. There are still some youthfully aggressive tannins on the moderately long finish, but the wine’s acidity is nicely integrated, giving it a savory quality and considerable early appeal.
Wine Advocate 88
A big, chunky, somewhat corpulent wine with delicious black currant and black cherry fruit intermixed with some damp earth, truffle and forest floor, this 2009 is round, medium to full-bodied, dark plum/purple, and best drunk over the next 10-12 years.
Anticipated maturity: 2012-2024
