Tasting Notes
Vinous 91
Bright medium red. More reticent and less fruity on the nose than the village Chambolle, offering scents of dark raspberry, brown spices and violet. Concentrated, saline, thick wine with noteworthy depth and a restrained sweetness to its broad flavors of redcurrant and cherry. Solid underlying minerality provides energy. The tannins are chewy but ultimately rather suave. A very substantial village wine.
Anticipated maturity: 2022-2029
Wine Advocate 90
The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin les Seuvrees comes from vines that tend to produce small berries and includes 20-25% whole bunch fruit this year. It has a very seductive redcurrant and pomegranate-scented bouquet with a tangible underlying mineralite. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, well-integrated new oak (20%) with a harmonious, slightly chalky finish that lingers in the mouth. This is very fine.
Anticipated maturity: 2018-2030

They have more than 1 ha on clayey soils. Very old vines. Still the bright fruit of the domaine with the depth of a Gevrey. Lots of energy here.
Anticipated maturity: 2022-2030
