Tasting Notes
Antonio Galloni 93
The 2016 Les Cruzelles is every bit as captivating from bottle as it was from barrel. Dense, pliant and inviting, the 2016 has so much to offer. Black cherry, plum, menthol, licorice, new leather and lavender all run through this super-expressive, pliant Lalande de Pomerol from Denis Durantou. The 2016 offers a striking combination of fruit intensity and structure. I loved it.
Anticipated maturity: 2021-2031
Neal Martin 93
The 2016 Les Cruzelles has a fresh bouquet with blackberry, crusty, pencil-box and light floral scents, more primal and demonstrating more vigour than its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, gentle but insistent grip, black cherry and raspberry fruit leading to a slightly oaky finish. This will benefit from more time in bottle. Tasted blind at the Southwold 10-Year-On tasting.
Anticipated maturity: 2028-2044
Wine Advocate 92
The medium garnet-purple colored 2016 Les Cruzelles gives up notes of raspberry preserves and chocolate-covered cherries with touches of unsmoked cigars and tilled soil. Medium-bodied and softly textured, the palate delivers loads of red and black fruits with a velvety texture and lively finish.
Anticipated maturity: 2020-2033

Tasted blind. Bright, vibrant, concentrated garnet. Clean, fresh nose of medium intensity. Very definitely right bank and voluptuous but with vitality, too. Well constituted. [GV] (JR)
Anticipated maturity: 2023-2039
