Tasting Notes
Antonio Galloni 91
The 2016 Mazeyres presents an exotic profile laced with bright, high-toned aromatic and super-ripe red fruits. Blood orange, mint and floral notes all run through the wine This is a decidedly overt style of Pomerol and yet the 2016 remains gracious and medium in body, with the perfume that is typical of sandier soils.
Anticipated maturity: 2021-2036
Neal Martin 88
The 2016 Mazeyres has a ripe, slightly smudged bouquet of red fruit, kirsch and stewed plums and a light marine scent. It needs more focus. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe tannin and a fine line of acidity, though it is less complex than the 2015 and feels pleasant but plays it safe on the finish.
Anticipated maturity: 2020-2030
Wine Advocate 87
The medium garnet-purple colored 2016 Mazeyres gives red plums, kirsch and black raspberries with earthy undertones and touches of stewed tea and tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with a chewy frame and earthy finish.
Anticipated maturity: 2019-2027

Alain Moueix consulting. Biodynamic. Some Petit Verdot. Glowing purple – not that dense. Toasty and interesting on the nose. Very sweet start and polished tannins. Certainly not heavy but good energy.
Anticipated maturity: 2023-2035
