Tasting Notes
Antonio Galloni 93
The 2019 Clos Dubreuil is packed with inky blue/purplish fruit, spice, new leather, espresso and chocolate. This heady, unctuous Saint-Emilion will drink well right out of the gate. Readers should expect an opulent, full-throttle style.

Neal Martin 92
The 2019 Clos Dubreuil, which comes in an unnecessarily heavy bottle (why?), has a ripe, pure black cherry and bilberry bouquet that displays touches of incense and potpourri. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fleshy and generous. A bold and brassy Saint-Emilion with a plush finish that manages to retain focus. Well-crafted and heady (in a good way). Please save the planet and use a more environmentally friendly bottle.
Anticipated maturity: 2024-2045

Full bottle a ridiculously heavy 1,657 g. A Benoit Trocard production. Deep crimson. Very concentrated, ripe nose. Very ripe – just this side of overripe – and pretty heavily extracted with evidence of some strong oak influence. This is dangerously close to the pastiche style so prevalent in this appellation at the turn of the century. If you like your wines big, bold and pretty exaggerated, this one’s for you! Lots of tannin. Food needed.
Anticipated maturity: 2024-2034
