The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Caillerets 1er Cru has a very subtle reduction that works in its favor. Well-defined with quite intense, resinous yellow fruit and touches of pressed flowers, this meliorates and gains complexity with aeration. The palate is well balanced, crisp and tensile, with a fine bead of acidity. Quite elegant, with a very composed and harmonious finish, this is a wine of real class and should reward time in bottle. Aromas of citrus zest, dried white flowers, crisp Anjou pear, freshly baked bread and a touch of youthful reduction introduce de Montille’s 2019 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets, a medium to full-bodied, chiseled and concentrated wine that’s taut and layered, with fine depth at the core and a long, saline finish.
