Tasting Notes
Antonio Galloni 85
The 2020 Cap de Mourlin is unyielding and angular, with limited fruit, depth and freshness. Bitter, astringent tannins make this hard to taste.
Anticipated maturity: 2023-2027
Neal Martin 86
The 2020 Cap de Moulin lacks definition on the nose. This is a bit underwhelming compared to its showing from barrel as if pushed too hard in the winery. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins yet a little monotonous, and it lacks joie de vivre on the finish. Disappointing in the context of its barrel showing.
Anticipated maturity: 2025-2035
JancisRobinson.com 15.5
65% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Pre-fermentation maceration at cold temperature. Malolactic fermentation in new oak barrels. Aged for 15 months. Sweet coconut on the nose. Thick and with acidity quite prominent. Not an appetising whole. Drying finish. (JR)
Anticipated maturity: 2026-2036
