Tasting Notes
Antonio Galloni 95
The 2020 Soutard is stellar. Rich, ample and super-expressive, the 2020 impresses with its elegant, stylish personality. Rose petal, mint, mocha and sweet spice complement a core of red/purplish fruit, with pretty floral top notes that extend the finish gracefully. Firm yet nicely balanced tannins wrap it all together. This is beautifully done.

Neal Martin 91
The 2020 Soutard has quite an opulent bouquet of blueberry, blackberry, pencil box and light tarry scents, perhaps needing to show a little more delineation and focus. That may come with barrel/bottle age. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins and a fine bead of acidity that cuts through the slightly tarry black fruit. It does not fan out like some other Saint-Emilions this vintage, but maybe it is biding its time. This Soutard might only show its potential after bottling.
Anticipated maturity: 2026-2048

60% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Malbec. Certified HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale) at Level 3. Thermoregulated wooden and stainless-steel tanks. Aged in wooden barrels (new and old).Rich and round with some refreshment value too though the elements are currently unintegrated. Quite a charmer that should blossom. (JR)
Anticipated maturity: 2027-2040
