Tasting Notes
Neal Martin 94
The 2020 Vosne-Romanee Malconsorts 1er Cru has a well-defined and intense bouquet with ample red berry fruit, sous-bois and violet scents. The oak is seamlessly integrated. The palate is pure and focused, with a mixture of red and blueberry fruit and fine tannins. It's polished in style, but there is focus and tension from start to finish. The 2020 is tightly coiled at the moment, but it should turn into an excellent Premier Cru. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
Anticipated maturity: 2026-2046

Limestone and terre-blanche soils, located towards the top of the slope. 45-year-old vines; part of the Thomas Moillard purchase with Dujac in 2005. Cask sample. Real satin elegance with violets and perfume on the nose and darker, blacker, soft fruit on the palate. Very fine tannins, great length. (MH)
Anticipated maturity: 2025-2040
