Tasting Notes
Antonio Galloni 90-92
The 2021 La Cabanne is pliant and quite giving, with lovely forward fruit and plenty of character. Sweet floral and spice top notes lend aromatic intensity. This stylish, fruity Pomerol is not terribly complex, but it is certainly easy to like. It should offer a decade or more of fine drinking.
Anticipated maturity: 2024-2036
Neal Martin 91
The 2021 La Cabanne has an uncomplicated nose of blackberry and crushed strawberry with a touch of black truffle and iodine. It opens with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, crisp, fresh and saline with a brisk and focused finish. This is a very well-crafted Pomerol that should give 15 years’ drinking pleasure.
Anticipated maturity: 2026-2036

94% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc. Dark colour. Lightly leafy black fruit. In the aroma the Cab Franc seems to show more than the Merlot but perhaps this is just-ripe Merlot not ripe-sweet Merlot. Dry and a bit flat on the palate. (JH)
Anticipated maturity: 2025-2033
