Tasting Notes
Antonio Galloni 90
The 2021 Monbrison is a charming wine. Floral, medium in body and quite refreshing, the Monbrison has quite a bit to offer. Its approachable personality makes it a fine choice for drinking now and over the next decade. Crushed red berry fruit, blood orange, cinnamon, cedar and leather linger on the savory finish.
Anticipated maturity: 2024-2033
Neal Martin 85
The 2021 Monbrison has a floral nose, dried rose petals filtering through the fresh black cherry and wild strawberry fruit with perhaps just a touch of Brettanomyces here. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins, clean and fresh, yet there is a lack of fruit concentration on the mid-palate. The finish feels light and ephemeral. Drink this over the next six to eight years. Tasted twice with consistent notes.
Anticipated maturity: 2025-2033

70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc. Cask sample.Mid crimson. Quite an intense nose. But then very polished and even quite saline on the palate. Forward and clearly made to be enjoyed quite soon but with real vigour, bright fruit and attack. Classic claret for early consumption. (JR)
Anticipated maturity: 2026-2036
