Tasting Notes
Vinous 91
The red-fruited 2021 Chateauneuf-du-Pape is showing well. Ripe strawberry, dried herbs and verbena tea with a pinch of licorice are all nicely delineated. More medium- than full-bodied, the elegant 2021 carries spot-on balance and concludes with a refreshing finale. Give it two more years in bottle to gain more complexity.
Anticipated maturity: 2027-2032

80% Grenache, 10% Mourvedre, 7% Syrah, 3% Cinsault. Fermented in concrete tanks. Matured in concrete tanks (75%), tronconic vats (20%) and old barriques (5%) for 18 months. Tank/cask sample.Tasted blind. Herbal with leather and raspberry pips. A savoury note with earth and firm tannins, which need plenty of time to be tamed. Liquorice notes on the medium finish. (AC)
