The 2022 Meursault Les Charmes 1er Cru has a lot of reduction on the nose-walnut, hazelnut and linseed oil-maybe slightly later picked than its peers. The palate is well balanced with a slightly viscous entry. A powerful Meursault, but it has the depth and concentration you expect from this particular vineyard, spicy with stem ginger and lemongrass on the finish. Not for the faint-hearted, but whenever has Burgundy been for the faint-hearted? Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
