Tasting Notes
Antonio Galloni 91
The NV Brut Grand Rose is an elegant, vinous Champagne comprised of 55% Chardonnay, 37% Pinot Noir and 8% still red Pinot Noir. Deceptively pale in color, the Grand Rose offers plenty of textural intensity and resonance. Cranberries, crushed rocks, mint, white flowers, white pepper and orange peel abound. This makes a fine aperitif, but it also has the depth to pair with a wide range of foods at the dinner table. Dosage is 8 grams per liter. Disgorged: Spring, 2019.

Vinous 92
(58% Chardonnay and 42% Pinot Noir; 3.5 g/l dosage; L329 9160): Light, orange-tinged pink. Lively spice- and mineral-accented red berry and citrus fruits on the nose, with a hint of cherry pit adding depth. Vibrant and precise on the palate, offering tangy, refreshingly bitter-edged blood orange and strawberry flavors. Clean, focused and stony on the dry, penetrating, persistent finish, which leaves a suave honeysuckle note behind.
Wine Advocate 92
Notes of tangerine, peach, white flowers and wheat toast preface the latest rendition of Gosset’s NV Brut Grand Rose, a medium to full-bodied, pillowy and charming wine with a fleshy core of fruit, chalky structure and tangy acids. Elegantly vinous and flavorful, it’s a fine success.
Anticipated maturity: 2021-2035

Pale golden salmon colour. Much richer than the Exton Park, Plot 4 Rose I have just been tasting. The same almond nose but a suggestion of marzipan on the palate. Rather winning and flattering. Just a notch richer than absolutely bone dry but certainly nothing like sweet. Long and very energetic, interesting and satisfying. (JR)
