Tasting Notes
Neal Martin 87
The 2023 Puligny-Montrachet Village, which was bottled in March, has a slightly anonymous nose at the moment, still finding its voice. The palate is simple, quite primal just missing the edginess that I normally find in Jacques Carillon’s wines.
Anticipated maturity: 2025-2030

Fermented and aged in oak. Tank sample. Subtle, spicy oak on the nose. Intense, really concentrated, the acidity just balanced by the flavour and rounded texture of the oak. Unusually intense in this vintage. Powerful, taut, long. A coiled spring that needs time. (JH)
Anticipated maturity: 2028-2035
