    The 2014 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes offers darker fruit than the Village Cru–blackberry and macerated strawberry, and a hint of cola in the background. The palate is quite powerful on the entry with blackcurrant pastille and raspberry, a slight bitterness developing on the tarry finish that feels a little over-extracted in the winery. Give this another couple of years and let’s see if it softens ups. [Neal Martin, 28/09/2017]
